Designed and hand made in Newcastle, NSW by Katie - an earring enthusiast for decades, whose obsession with earrings started at 16, at her first retail job. 

Over the last 16 years, Katie cemented herself as 'the earring girl' amongst friends and family, receiving  compliments daily on her earring choice everywhere she went.

"It became a bit of a running joke between my partner and I," said Katie. 

"I would inevitably keep us late for something because I got talking to a stranger about the earrings I was wearing, where I got them and of course how heavy they were."

Katie soon learned she might have an 'eye' for earrings and with the encouragement of her now fiance, in May 2019, Katie took the plunge and opened Fred & Ginger.

Fred & Ginger is an online earring boutique boasting 60+ statement pieces that aim to elevate any outfit. Fred & Ginger aims to inspire confidence, connection and creativity through a bold colour pallet with splashes of sparkle - Fred & Ginger's signature - aiming to empower women everywhere to 'make their statement' in style... and life. 

All earrings are made from laser cut acrylic, designed and handmade by Katie using the highest quality stud posts, backs and jump rings - nickel free and hypo allergenic. 

Katie holds a Bachelor of Communication and works in Corporate Affairs in Newcastle. Katie is also a certified Make Up Artist with experience in fashion, TV and editorial.

Underpinning it all though is Katie's story - a once shy girl who found her confidence through the daily ritual of adorning her lobes with statement earrings.
